I am so grateful that Journeys Namibia approached me again after I captured images for them at The Shipwreck Lodge about two years back. This time my brief was to take photos of the Fish River Lodge. And this is what I experienced and the thoughts that I brought back home with me after visiting:

The Fish River Canyon, located in southern Namibia, is a captivating natural wonder that combines spectacular environmental landscapes with fascinating geological formations. Whilst on the “Canyon Drive” with the guide, he pointed out the petrified tree trunks, that have remarkably transformed into stone over millions of years. This incredible process showcases the enduring power of nature and offers a glimpse into the region's geological history. Another intriguing phenomenon is the presence of the "Green Sands". The green colour is primarily attributed to the existence of a mineral called olivine, which contains iron and magnesium, and this green hue provides a striking contrast against the surrounding arid desert landscape. Amidst this awe-inspiring setting, the Fish River Lodge stands as a remarkable retreat. Nestled on the edge of the canyon, it offers guests an unparalleled experience, with panoramic views that stretch for miles. The lodge boasts a team of well-trained staff who go above and beyond to ensure a memorable stay. Whether exploring the canyon's hiking trails or simply indulging in the tranquillity of the surroundings, guests at Fish River Lodge can immerse themselves in the beauty and serenity of this remarkable destination.

As a photographer, I pursued to capture the sophisticated details of the Fish River Lodge. I attempted to showcase not only the awe-inspiring natural wonders, but also the subtle elements that makes the lodge a truly exceptional destination. Through my lens, I took to sum up the feeling of peacefulness that envelops the lodge, the atmosphere of tranquillity that fills the air, and the vibrant ambience that originate from the breath-taking landscapes. From the intricate patterns of the petrified wood to the purple hues of the canyon which is found again in the colour of the rooms, every click of the camera aimed to invite viewers to embark on a visual journey that captures the spirit of the Fish River Lodge and its surrounding.
